Japan reflections

Reflecting on our trip to Japan, I keep thinking about the quiet moments the most. Walking through the peaceful streets of Kyoto early in the morning felt calm and almost timeless, with small details everywhere.

At the same time, Japan is full of funny surprises, like when we heard what sounded like an ice cream truck drifting through the neighborhood, only to realize it was the septic truck. Between moments like that and discovering things like the Butt Detective cartoon, Japan felt like the perfect mix of peaceful, thoughtful, and unexpectedly hilarious.
